Field Trip
Field trips of the year include trips to Eco park, Biscuit factory, Botanical Garden, Nursery garden at Sholavanthan, Senthamil college Library, Agriculture University, Paper Plate Industry, Gandhi Museum.

Debate Club
The Debate club in our school wanted to trade the value of equal access to boys and girls during school education. The team discussed the social issues against each individual woman in this 21st era. The hot talk of the debators made the audience spellbound throughout the session and gave a vivid image that Gender equality is not only an essential human right, but an obligatory foundation for a peaceful, wealthy and sustainable world.

Manuscript Class Magazine
Students of std. IV to VIII express their creative skills by preparing a manuscript class magazine.

NCSC (National Children Science Congress) Projects
To kindle the scientific inquiring among students the NCSC encourages schools to participate in presenting projects in science.  Projects were taken up by the students of Std. VI - VIII and the project reports were presented and won the appreciation of the organizers.

Day Observances:
World Environment Day, Handwashing Day, World Blood Donor Day, International Yoga Day, Father’s Day, Pi Day, Dr. APJ. Abdul Kalam’s Memorial Day, Independence Day, Krishna Jayanthi, Teacher’s Day and various Colour days were observed through different activities to enable children learn the significance of those days.


Week Observances:
Kamarajar Kalvi Valarchi Vaara Vizha and Social Sciences Week were observed with many interesting activities and competitions.

  $  Readers Club is inaugurated for the teachers and Dr. Kalam’s Club is inaugurated for the students. Dr. N. Siva Subramanian, Retd. Senior Scientist of ISRO lectured to the students on “Exploring on the advancement of technology in making working models”.

  $  Dr. Indra Jeyaraj, Vice Principal of SHARPEN academy along with Ms. Tippee Nowacki and Mr. Chaun Lee, the Logic Mills Trainers addressed the children. Logic Mills training programme was introduced for the students of class IV.

  $  The  e-News letter, “Light House” was released by Shri A. Senthil Ramesh, Correspondent, SBOA Schools, Madurai.

  $  Sri Aravindhar Annai Trust conducted interschool competition at the district level. Our children participated in various competitions, won prizes in all the competitions and brought laurels to the school. ​


  $  'SIRPANGAL ’19 – Interschool competitions for kids and Odzy ’19, a mega art expo for kids (fantasy world) were organized.

  $  A well-furnished computer lab functions effectively providing hands-on experience for kids on many technological concepts.


  $  Action research is implemented to offer pedagogical solutions to the problems identified among students.

  $  Abacus and Robotics clubs too offer the children a wonderful opportunity to gain insights.


  $  Extra Curricular Activities are implemented efficiently with 17 clubs.

Innovations

Staff Empowerment Programme:
   #   Staff Empowerment programme was organized for teachers of KG and facilitators of QC Teams. Mrs. Shakura Vincent, Curriculum and QC Co-ordinator of TVS Schools, Madurai was the resource person.

   #   Mrs. M. Bessie Carl and Ms. S. Sumathy, Computer teachers of our school attended a workshop on Student University Industry Tie-up Scheme(SUITS) programme conducted by Bharathidasan University, Trichy for two days at PTR Engineering College, Madurai.

   #   Principal handled a workshop on “Express and Experience - KNOW YOURSELF” for the KG teachers.

   #   Quality Circle seminar was arranged for the teachers of all departments on “Implementation of quality enhanced teaching tools” in their respective subjects.

   #   Workshop on Primary Math for the Department of Maths was conducted by Scholastic Resource Personnel.

   #   Dr. Indra Jayaraj, Vice-Principal of the SHARPEN Academy visited our school on 28.08.2018 and handled a model class for the English teachers.

   #   A Guest lecture was arranged for Guide Teachers of NCSC Project in collaboration with Tamil Nadu Science Forum. Dr. Shakila, Professor, Department of Biotechnology, Madurai Kamaraj University was the resource personnel. Mr. K. Satish Kumar, SGT-Chemistry of our school is elected as one of the members of TNSF.

Awareness Programmes:
   #   A rally was conducted on ‘Eradication of Plastics’.

   #   Awareness on Pediatric Sleep Disorders was given by the Student Counselor.

   #   QC presentation was done by the team COSYTEE – a project on ‘Gender Equality’ was presented by students.

   #   Awareness on Good Touch and Bad Touch was organized by the School Nurse and Student Counsellor.

   #   Blood Donation Camp was organized in association with Madurai Meenakshi Mission Hospital.

 Outreach Programmes – Field Trips:

 
Integrity Club: Students visited ‘St. Joseph’s Blind School’ at Paravai. They shared their valuable time and healthy snacks with students there. Our students amazed students of the St. Joseph’s school by preparing Name Puzzle through  braille model.

Meet the community: As a part of productive work education under co-scholastic skills, Students interacted with Potters at Vilacherri and learnt two methods of pot making. Models of small pots were displayed by the students.

Literacy Drive @ Community Schools: Volunteers of Class V taught the basic alphabets, colours, 3 letter words using vowels in English, measurements and fun games in Maths for the students of Panchayath Union School at Melakuilkudi, Nagamalai.  They used flashcards and worksheets for colouring and solving problems. It was a meaningful experience for them. Ecological concern was developed by distributing 100 seed balls to the schools.

Fun & Frolic: Students of classes I and II were taken for field trips to airport and eco parks. They learnt about neighbourhood and thrilled towards ‘take off’ moments of the air fly.
